Welcome to the Department of Applied Statistics and Data Science at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST). Established in 2024, the department commenced its academic journey in 2025 with the vision of becoming a center of excellence in education, research, and innovation in the rapidly evolving fields of statistics, data science, and artificial intelligence.

In the era of big data and digital transformation, data-driven decision-making has become indispensable across academia, industry, government, healthcare, finance, business, and social sciences. Applied Statistics and Data Science integrates statistical theory, computational methods, and advanced analytical techniques to transform data into meaningful insights, supporting evidence-based decision-making and sustainable development.

The Department offers a four-year Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Applied Statistics and Data Science. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in statistical methods, data analytics, machine learning, programming, data visualization, and research methodology. Through a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical applications, students develop the analytical and computational skills necessary to address complex real-world challenges in a data-driven society.

As a newly established department, we are committed to creating a dynamic academic environment that nurtures intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, innovation, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
